Softronics Announces Strategic Alliance for Internet Service Providers

Colorado Springs, Colo - Microsoft has decided to attack the burgeoning Internet Service Provider market by including Internet Explorer with all OEM computers bundling Windows ‘95. New computer buyers will instinctively subscribe to the Microsoft Internet solution and be discouraged from seeking independent Internet Service Providers (ISP). To assist ISP’s in the attack on their market, Softronics has established a strategic alliance marketing program for ISP’s. ISP’s can distribute customized Windows software configured specifically for their service. The “Softerm ISP Strategic Alliance” is commercial software that provides all the Windows applications needed to use ISP’s services for $15 or less. The “Softerm ISP Shareware Alliance” is fully-functioning shareware software that is configured specifically for an ISP service and freely distributed by the ISP.

Softronics customizes the software for on-line Internet customer sign-up. A general-purpose shareware version can be downloaded from ftp.softronics.com (4.2 megs)

Softronics President, F. Scott Pierce states, "In the competition war to sign-up Internet accounts, Internet Service Providers have got to capture market share early and establish relationships with their customers. We give them a strategic component they need. From us, Providers get one product that does it all at an extremely low cost. And if Providers don’t want to pay, they can distribute our shareware for free."

ISP’s can blitz their market by distributing the “Softerm ISP Shareware Alliance” software customized specifically for the ISP. Softronics providers a personalized Internet Access package so consumers can instantly point, click and connect to the ISP’s service. The same marketing success that America On Line has achieved with its marketing approach can be the ISP’s. ISP’s can use it for promotions, use it as an incentive, or as a convenience to their market. This is not as desirable as having software preloaded on every new PC with Windows ‘95, but at least, the ISP can have their software available for free on every computer checkout counter in their market.

The Softerm ISP Strategic Alliance software contains a World Wide Web Browser, SMTP eMail Module with automatic uudecode/uuencode featuring built-in automatic display of attached graphical files, NNTP News Reader Module with automatic uudecode/uuencode featuring automatic display of attached graphical files while downloading, DLL VxD TCP/IP, FTP, Graphical FTP File Manager, Ping, Gopher, Graphical File Viewer supporting 41 different graphical file formats, File Transfer (FTP, CompuServe B+, IND$FILE, Kermit, X/Y/Zmodem and more) featuring automatic display of graphical files and automatic PKUNZIP, TN3270, Telnet DEC VT340, VT240, VT320, VT220, VT100, VT52, Telnet ANSI Terminals, Telnet IBM 3101-20, IBM 3101-10, Telnet RIPterm, Context Sensitive Help, free Telephone Technical Assistance and much more!
