Simultaneous Authoring of Windows and OS/2 Help

Developers who create an application for both Windows and OS/2 can author the accompanying Help system concurrently for both environments using UniversalHelp. Help can be exported to Windows Rich Text Format (RTF) and OS/2 Information Presentation Facility (IPF) source files on demand.

Interactive WYSIWYG Environment

UniversalHelp is an interactive What-You-See-Is-What-You-Get (WYSIWYG) environment that simulates the Windows Help system. Never again struggling with foot notes, hidden text, or "markup" tags, Windows and OS/2 Help authors can:

Enter hypertext controls in a point-and-click manner.
Test hypertext and hypergraphic jumps before compiling a Help system.
Create "popup definition" topics on-the-fly.
Delete a topic and all references to that topic through a one-step process.
Browse through previously written topics in a window while authoring in another window.

UniversalHelp was developed to run in conjunction with Microsoft Word for Windows. Using Word as a platform enables the author to have full access to its rich assembly of features:

Who Should Use It?

UniversalHelp is designed for all Windows and OS/2 Help authors, particularly those who:

Need to create similar Help for Windows and OS/2. already have Help for Windows or OS/2 and want to convert it quickly to the other format.
Have little or no experience working with Help and do not want to struggle with the complexities of RTF or IPF format.
Are experienced in authoring Help, but want to speed up their current processes without sacrificing any functionality.
Need to create multiple language versions of a Help system. UniversalHelp can be used in combination with UniversalNLV to create National Language Versions (NLV) of Help.
