Year 2000 Compliance for Softronics, Inc. Software Products

Regarding the issues relating to Year 2000 readiness of one or more of our software products, please be advised as follows:

1. The Softerm Classic DOS version is not Year 2000 compliant. We recommend that Softerm Classic users upgrade to the latest release of our Softerm Windows products as soon as possible.

2. All of the latest Windows versions of our Softerm(r) products that use digits for determining the year, presently are capable of using four digits for determining the year.

3. All of the latest Windows versions of our products are designed to run on 32-Bit Microsoft(r) Windows(r) platforms (Windows 95 and Windows NT 4.0).

4. The Windows version of Softerm product (for use under Microsoft's Windows(r) 3.1 and Windows for Workgroups(tm) environments and OS/2) may present Year 2000 compliance issues, e.g., if the Softerm Script Schedule function is used. Users of this product are advised to avoid using the above-mentioned Script Schedule function. We further recommend that Softerm users upgrade to the latest release of our Softerm Windows products as soon as possible.

5. The Windows versions of Softerm products relies heavily upon the efforts of Microsoft, DEC, IBM/Motorola, Intel and other CPU and operating systems vendors in confronting and resolving platform issues relating to Year 2000 compliance, but Softerm cannot solve all issues related to the transition to the Year 2000. While we try to make every effort to ensure Year 2000 readiness, one must appreciate that since the Softerm scripting functionality involving Schedule is created by end user, users are and must be ultimately responsible for verifying and ensuring the Year 2000 compliance of their individual scripts.

6. Softronics is providing this information to assist our customers in evaluating and correcting potential issues for using dates into the next century.
